After a career in the US, China, and Southeast Asia for Barco and the Boston Consulting Group, Benoit was the CEO at various Belgian family businesses. For 15 years, he led Van Hoorebeke Timber Group, Matermaco Group, and Floréac.
Benoit studied at the Solvay Business School, Vlerick Business School, Darden Graduate School of Business, and MIT Sloan.
Benoit has extensive experience as a non-executive chairman, board member, and advisor.
Either on a 1-1 basis or as a facilitator of C-level teams, he supports senior leaders from medium-sized to publicly listed companies.
Clients include BCG, EY, Proximus, Tractebel, The Flemish Government, The House of HR, Upgrade Estate, Vanbreda Risk & Benefits, 9Altitudes, Hello Customer, and many more.
Benoit got involved in competitive sailing as a child. He participated in three world championships in the Cadet youth class, earned his Yachtman license while still in high school, and trained in his early twenties for the Volvo Ocean Race.
Since then, Benoit has been a skipper on sailing yachts in Croatia, Greece, Turkey, France, the Netherlands, England, and the United States. In 2023, he sailed the Roaring Forties between Australia and Antarctica as a watch leader on a 70-footer in the Clipper Race.
Benoit is an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore with a commercial license and is qualified as a Yachtman examiner.
